Kalinganagar story - Further updates

Today in Indian express Baijayant Panda has written a column on Kalinganagar Vs Nandigram. It is quite interesting where differences have been revealed between Naveen Patnaik's style of functioning as opposed to the CPM.

I have continuously referred to the fact that Naveen patnaik has handled the Kalinganagar Issue very well. Inspite of continuous criticism by the Various so-called protestors today the Orissa Government has more trust than their counterparts in West Bengal.

In a similar line I read a article by Mr. Rajaram Satpathy which said that POSCO might move to Vietnam.

The reason I'm sceptical for this news is that Mr. Rajaram Satpathy is not known to be
very pro-Industry/ I've read his writings in blogs and news groups. Also, the
references in his article refer to a senior official which describes the mood in the company.
I'm not sure if this is very conclusive.

POSCO responded back to this writing immediately.

This has the potential to derail talks in the Media.

Hopefully, this project has a future.

Althogh Mr. Baijayanta Panda's article is well written I don't think the timing is right for him to have written that article. This is not a time for Orissa politicians to gloat. Challenges still remain in Kalinagnagar and other places and projects (Vedanta University, etc.). As mentioned in the article the politicians need to keep a low profile in convincing the affected people, not gloat.

Chitta Babu,
I do agree with you on this. Simaltaneously, this article does serves the purpose of putting things in perspective for external Media.

I believe this would help to build consensus.

I think it is very important to show the differences between Kalinganagar and Nadigram. So most of the article is fine and more such articles should be written. Just one should avoid the ending in that one should not say that the problem is solved in Orissa. We should not give additional motivation to the bad people to create more trouble in Orissa.
